Vijay is in journalism since 1976. Has contributed
more than fifteen hundred articles, features and
interviews in various Hindi and English newspapers
and magazines. Worked in the tribal area of Dadra
Nagar Haveli for five years. Helped set up Surya
Niketan, a research and training institute for tribes and
also a students' hostel. His works among tribes were
filmed by William Greaves, a famed film maker from
USA (the film - The golden Forest was shown on India's
national channel) and Basu Bhattacharya an equally
famous film maker from India in his television serial
Anveshan. Was nominated on several Advisory Committees
of the Government of India. Was the youngest member
of Home Minister's Advisory Committee, Govt Of
India (1981-82).Visited USA to study their democratic
institutions and also UK, Russia, France, Switzerland,
Holland, Denmark, Germany, Singapore, South Africa.
Uzbekistan, Nepal, Pakistan and China. His name has
been included in the International Directory of
Distinguished Leadership - 1997. USA. At present
working as Editor of Panchjanya Weekly. He has received the Best
Editor Award 1994 by Chief Minister of Delhi; the PRAGYA SAMMAN
1994 by the Publishers' Association,
New Delhi; the Gyani Gyan Singh Award by the Punjab Government.
